Champagne Chair Contest



Join us for the Masia Dutti Annual Champagne Chair Contest. The rules and guidelines are quite simple: fabricate a chair using Masia Dutti champagne cork hardware (muselet & foil), send it to us, and you'll have a chance at winning gift certificates and seeing your chair and name be featured in our New Year's newsletter, which goes out to our readers around the globe. There will be three gift certificates will be awarded; a $1,500 gift certificate to first place; $1,000 to second place and $500 to third place.

This design exercise is quick, fun, and best done during the season, when drinking champagne seems like the natural thing to do. To get you inspired, we came up with some chairs using only a few tools. If we can come up with these in less than an hour, you can certainly top our attempts.


         

The three winning chairs will be photographed for the official Masia Dutti Champagne  Annual New Years Card, and we will make the chairs available online for the entire international design and Champagne community to view and admire. Best of luck and have fun.

Criteria:
The Entries will be judged on the following criteria:
  • Craftsmanship
  • Creativity
  • Ingenuity
  • The chair must be durable enough to be shipped intact. We will not reassemble your chair.                                   
Requirements:
Use all of the materials from no more than two (2) Masia Dutti champagne bottles. You are not permitted to use any additional materials.

The chair must measure no more than 4" in height and be shipped in a box measuring no bigger than 12" x 12" X 12”. Submissions need to arrive at our office.

Please...only one chair and one submission per individual.


All entries will become our property, so make one for yourself if you're really happy with the end result.

How to enter:
  • Fill out the entry form
  • Ship chair in a box no bigger than 12" X 12" to the following address:**

**All entries must be received in our offices.

Choosing the Winner:

The winning entry will be chosen by a jury made up of local residents in either the fields of art, entertainment, design or dining to include:

Ukwuoma Tochukwu, Founder.
Ukwuoma Ekene, Media Director

Prizes: 
  • First Place is a $1,500 Gift Certificate;
  • Second Place is a $1,000 Gift Certificate; and
  • Third Place is $500.
Timing:
  • All entries must be received in our office before every 20, 2011.
  • The jury will judge on or before  29, 2011.
  • Winners will be announced by email and online on or about  31, 2011.
